Original 1940 Dutch Army Military Driving Licence Motor Artillery

Original Dutch Army military driving licence issued on 19 March 1940, shortly before the German invasion of the Netherlands.
The licence numbered A 184 was issued by the commander of the Motor Artillery Depot to conscript Sergeant Jan Lamsma.
The document authorised him to operate military automobiles and motorcycles.
The lower section bears the name of commander A.L.J. de Pauw together with a signature.
The reverse contains an extensive extract from regulations issued by the Dutch Ministry of Defence concerning the use and validity of military driving licences.
An interesting original Dutch Army document from the mobilisation period immediately preceding the fighting in May 1940.

Origineel Nederlands militair rijbewijs, afgegeven op 19 maart 1940, kort voor de Duitse inval in Nederland

Het rijbewijs met nummer A 184 werd verstrekt door de commandant van het Depot Motorartillerie aan dienstplichtig sergeant Jan Lamsma.
Het document gaf hem vergunning tot het besturen van militaire automobielen en motorrijwielen.
Onderaan staat de naam van commandant A.L.J. de Pauw met handtekening.
De achterzijde bevat een uitgebreid extract uit de beschikking van de Minister van Defensie betreffende het gebruik en de geldigheid van militaire rijbewijzen.
Een interessant origineel Nederlands legerdocument uit de mobilisatieperiode vlak voor de meidagen van 1940.
