Original 1938 British Union of Fascists BUF Oswald Mosley ‘Our Leader’ pin

Original British Union of Fascists (BUF) ‘Our Leader’ badge dating from circa 1938.
The front features a relief portrait of BUF leader Sir Oswald Mosley in profile with the inscription ‘OUR LEADER’ below.
This type of supporter badge was produced in 1938 and was advertised through the BUF newspaper ‘Action’ in December of that year.
The badge is manufactured from metal with a bronze-coloured finish and has a rectangular shape with a raised border.
The reverse retains the buttonhole fitting which allowed the badge to be worn on civilian clothing.
The example shows visible traces of use and wear to the finish.
A scarce original British political collectible connected with the history of the British Union of Fascists and Oswald Mosley during the late 1930s.

De voorzijde toont een reliëfportret van BUF-leider Sir Oswald Mosley in profiel met daaronder de tekst ‘OUR LEADER’.
Dit type supportersspeld werd in 1938 geproduceerd en werd in december van dat jaar aangeboden via de BUF-krant ‘Action’.
De speld is uitgevoerd in metaal met een bronskleurige afwerking en heeft een rechthoekige vorm met verhoogde omlijsting.
Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich de bevestiging waarmee de speld in het knoopsgat van burgerkleding kon worden gedragen.
Het exemplaar vertoont zichtbare gebruikssporen en slijtage aan de afwerking.
Een schaars origineel politiek verzamelobject uit het Groot-Brittannië van de late jaren dertig en verbonden aan de geschiedenis van de British Union of Fascists en Oswald Mosley.
