Original 1932 German brochure ‘Hitler über Deutschland’

This rare original German brochure from 1932, entitled “Hitler über Deutschland”, is an impressive and completely preserved work of propaganda from the final phase of the Weimar Republic. The publication was compiled by Heinrich Hoffmann, with text by Josef Berchtold, and was issued in connection with the so-called “Deutschlandflug”, during which Adolf Hitler traveled across Germany by airplane to deliver speeches and attend large mass gatherings.

This early example contains a large number of sharply printed black-and-white photographs, including full-page images, photo montages, and several fold-out panoramic plates depicting enormous crowds, stadiums, parades, and nighttime assemblies. The original cover with its striking graphic airplane illustration is present, as are the title page, preface, numbered pages, and captions printed in Gothic typeface.

Because of its early year of publication (1932), complete contents, and relatively fragile original construction, this work is today regarded as a scarce and highly sought-after collector’s item. Deze zeldzame originele Duitse brochure uit 1932, getiteld “Hitler über Deutschland”, is een indrukwekkend en compleet bewaard gebleven propagandawerk uit de laatste fase van de Weimarrepubliek. De publicatie werd samengesteld door Heinrich Hoffmann, met tekst van Josef Berchtold, en verscheen naar aanleiding van de zogenoemde “Deutschlandflug”, waarbij Adolf Hitler per vliegtuig door het land reisde om toespraken te houden en massabijeenkomsten bij te wonen. Het exemplaar bevat een groot aantal scherp afgedrukte zwart-witfoto’s, waaronder paginagrote afbeeldingen, fotomontages en meerdere uitvouwbare panoramaplaten die enorme menigten, stadions, optochten en nachtelijke bijeenkomsten tonen.
