Original 1930s British Union of Fascists tunic with belt, armband and pin

This Mens tunic (Black shirt) with belt, armband and enameled pin belonged to a member of the British Union of Fascists who wore this in the 1930s.
They are in worn but good condition and the tunic was produced by the manufacturer Abbey Supplies.
The Abbey Supplies manufacturer marking can be found on the inside, Abbey Supplies Ltd., Sanctuary Buildings, GT. Smith St. SW1.
The tunic features the B.U.F. insignia fasces on the chest.
This uniform was worn between 1932 and 1936 until the banning of political uniforms under the Public Order acts in 1936.
Together with the Mens tunic comes the British Union of Fascists Mens belt with buckle.
It features the B.U.F. fasces symbol on the front as well.
The multi-piece B.U.F. armband is a non textbook home made armband from the 1930s.
The ‘For King and Country’ enameled pin is the 2nd pattern which was worn by the British Fascisti in the 1920s and is marked on the back with ‘Gaunt London’.
The B.U.F. was established by Oswald Mosley in 1931 under the name New Party but after he visited Benito Mussolini 1932 he renamed the organization to the British Union of Fascists.
British Union of Fascists objects are very scarce and only a of these examples are known in museums.
The size of this tunic is perfect to display on a buste our mannequin.

Origineel 1930s British Union of Fascists tuniek met riem, armband en speld

Dit heren tuniek (zwart overhemd) met riem, armband en speld behoorde toe aan een lid van de Britse Unie van Fascisten die dit droeg in de jaren 1930.
Het is in gedragen maar goede staat en het tuniek werd geproduceerd door de fabrikant Abbey Supplies.
Het merkteken van de fabrikant Abbey Supplies staat aan de binnenkant, Abbey Supplies Ltd., Sanctuary Buildings, GT. Smith St. SW1.
Het tuniek is voorzien van het B.U.F. insigne fasces op de borst.
Dit uniform werd gedragen tussen 1932 en 1936 tot het verbod op politieke uniformen door de Britse regering werd ingesteld in 1936.
Bij het heren tuniek komt ook de British Union of Fascists herenriem met gesp.
Op de voorkant staat ook het B.U.F. fasces symbool.
De armband is een non textbook type uit de jaren 30.
De geëmailleerde ‘For king and Country’ speld werd in de jaren 20 gedragen door de British Fascisti en is gemarkeerd met ‘Gaunt London’ aan de achterzijde.
