Original 1930s British Union of Fascists sports belt with buckle

This very rare sports belt is in good condition a was worn by a member of the British Union of Fascists, also known as the B.U.F. in the 1930s.
The buckle is complete with leather belt and this buckle features the fascus symbol.
Length belt: 96 cm.
Originally the BUF was established by Oswald Mosley in 1931 under the name New Party but after he visited Benito Mussolini 1932 he renamed the organization to the British Union of Fascists.
The organization was anti-Semitic and Mosley visited Germany several times in the 1930s.
They held parades and meetings and the members were wearing black shirts and insignia.
In May 1940 Oswald Mosley was arrested with 700 other party members and the BUF was forbidden.
This is a textbook original buckle and belt which can also be seen in the reference book Mosley’s men in black by John Millican.

Originele 1930s British Union of Fascists sport koppelslot met riem
Deze zeer zeldzame manschappen sport riem is in gebruikte conditie een werd gedragen door een lid van de British Union of Fascists, ook wel bekend als de B.U.F. in de jaren 30.
Het koppelslot is voorzien van leren riem en het slot is voorzien van het fascus symbool.
Lengte riem: 96 cm.
Oorspronkelijk werd de BUF opgericht door Oswald Mosley in 1931 onder de naam New Party maar na zijn bezoek aan Benito Mussolini in 1932 hernoemde hij de organisatie naar British Union of Fascists.
De organisatie was antisemitisch en Mosley bezocht Duitsland een aantal keer in de jaren 30.
Er werden parades en bijeenkomsten gehouden en de leden droegen zwarte blousen met emblemen.
In mei 1940 werd Oswald Mosley gearresteerd met zo’n 700 andere leden en de BUF werd verboden.
