Original 1920s/1930s Deutsche Reichsbahn overcoat

This German overcoat is in good condition and was worn by an employee of the Deutsche Reichsbahn between 1921 and 1935.
The coat features two rows of gold-colored buttons which in turn feature a Reichswehr eagle.
The dark wool coat contains a blue colored collar. 

Deutsche Reichsbahn in the Early 1930s

In the early 1930s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn was Germany’s national railway company and played a key role in transporting goods and passengers across the country.
Despite the economic struggles of the Weimar Republic and the global Great Depression, the Reichsbahn remained an essential part of Germany’s infrastructure and economy.
The organization was known for its efficiency and modern technology, operating a network that spanned thousands of kilometers. During this period, investments were made in railway electrification and the introduction of faster trains.
At the same time, the Reichsbahn faced financial pressure and political interference, especially as the National Socialists were rising to power.|
After 1933, under the Nazi regime, the Reichsbahn was gradually integrated into the state apparatus and became involved in Germany’s militarization and, later, in preparations for war.

Originele jaren 20/30 Deutsche Reichsbahn overjas

Deze Duitse overjas is in goede conditie en werd gedragen door een medewerker van de Deutsche Reichsbahn tussen 1921 en 1935.
De jas is voorzien van twee rijen met goudgekleurde knopen welke weer voorzien zijn van een Reichswehr adelaar.
De donkere wollen jas bevat een blauwe gekleurde kraag. 

Deutsche Reichsbahn in de vroege jaren 30

In het begin van de jaren 1930 was de Deutsche Reichsbahn de nationale spoorwegmaatschappij van Duitsland en speelde een sleutelrol in het vervoer van goederen en passagiers door het hele land.
Ondanks de economische moeilijkheden van de Weimarrepubliek en de wereldwijde Grote Depressie, bleef de Reichsbahn een belangrijk onderdeel van de Duitse infrastructuur en economie.
De organisatie stond bekend om haar efficiëntie en moderne technologie, met een netwerk dat zich uitstrekte over duizenden kilometers.
In deze periode werd ook geïnvesteerd in de elektrificatie van spoorlijnen en de introductie van snellere treinen.
Tegelijkertijd had de Reichsbahn te maken met financiële druk en politieke inmenging, zeker toen de nationaalsocialisten in opkomst waren.
Na 1933, onder het naziregime, werd de Reichsbahn geleidelijk geïntegreerd in het staatsapparaat en kreeg het een rol in de militarisering van Duitsland en, later, in de oorlogsvoorbereidingen.
