De voorzijde toont een Belgische soldaat die waakt over de frontlinie met het opschrift “1914 YSER ON NE PASSE PAS! 1918”.
Deze bekende slogan verwijst naar de heroïsche verdediging van de IJzerlinie door het Belgische leger tijdens de oorlog.
