Original 1914-1918 Dutch ‘Mobilisatiekruis’ medal

This Mobilization Cross 1914–1918 is an official Dutch commemorative decoration, awarded to military personnel who were mobilized during the First World War for the defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The bronze cross is executed in a distinctive Art Deco style and features the years 1914 and 1918 on the obverse, with the inscription Mobilisatie on the arms of the cross.

The reverse bears the text Mobilisatie – Vrede – Eer (“Mobilization – Peace – Honor”), emphasizing the recognition of the service rendered by the mobilized soldiers. The cross is suspended from its original ribbon.

This example is in good condition and represents a historical collectible of interest to collectors of Dutch military decorations and First World War memorabilia.

Dit Mobilisatiekruis 1914–1918 is een officiële Nederlandse herinneringsonderscheiding, toegekend aan militairen die tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog gemobiliseerd waren voor de verdediging van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. Het bronzen kruis is uitgevoerd in een karakteristieke art-decostijl en draagt op de voorzijde de jaartallen 1914 en 1918, met in de armen de inscriptie Mobilisatie. De keerzijde is voorzien van de tekst Mobilisatie – Vrede – Eer, waarmee de waardering voor de inzet van de gemobiliseerde militair wordt benadrukt. Het kruis is opgehangen aan het originele lint. Dit exemplaar verkeert in nette conditie en is een historisch verzamelobject voor verzamelaars van Nederlandse militaire onderscheidingen en Eerste Wereldoorlog-memorabilia.
