Original 1940 Dutch army metal table plaque Den Haag

This exceptional Dutch military table plaque dating from 1939–1940 is a historical object from the mobilization period on the eve of the Second World War.
The front features a finely executed relief of a Dutch soldier wearing a helmet, characteristic of the interwar period.
The reverse bears an inscription from the Haagsche O. & O. Committee to J.F.W. Meyboom, expressing gratitude for his significant support of swimming activities for the Hague garrison.
The plaque rests on a matching base with an additional inscription and is made of gilt bronze or brass. This decorative piece represents a tangible reminder of the social and sporting life within the Dutch army during the years 1939–1940.

Deze bijzondere Nederlandse militaire tafelplaquette uit 1939–1940 is een historisch object uit de mobilisatieperiode aan de vooravond van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. De voorzijde toont een fraai uitgevoerd reliëf van een Nederlandse militair met helm, typerend voor het interbellum. Op de achterzijde staat de opdracht van het Haagsche O. & O. Comité aan J.F.W.
