Original WWII Dutch N.A.D. sport medal miniature

This Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst (NAD) miniature sports medal from the Second World War was awarded to members of the Labour Service in recognition of athletic achievements and physical training.
The miniature medal is made of metal and attached to a dark purple ribbon, featuring on the front the emblem of the Labour Service, a spade between ears of grain with the motto “Ick Dien” (“I Serve”).
This symbol represented devotion to the people and the fatherland, a central ideal within the organization.
An interesting item for any Dutch collaboration or N.A.D. collection.

Deze Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst (NAD) miniatuur sportmedaille uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd uitgereikt aan leden van de Arbeidsdienst als erkenning voor sportieve prestaties en lichamelijke training.
De miniatuur medaille is vervaardigd uit metaal en bevestigd aan een donkerpaars lint, met op de voorzijde het embleem van de Arbeidsdienst, een spade tussen korenaren met het motto “Ick Dien” (Ik Dien).
Dit symbool stond voor dienstbaarheid aan volk en vaderland, een centraal ideaal binnen de organisatie. Een interessant item voor de Nederlandse collaboratie of N.A.D. collectie!
