Original WWII Dutch Luchtbeschermingsdienst armband reading ‘Ordonnans’.
The armband is made of light-coloured fabric printed with ‘Luchtbeschermingsdienst’ in blue letters and ‘Ordonnans’ below it.
A blue horizontal bar separates the two inscriptions.
Fabric ties are attached to both sides of the armband, used to fasten it around the arm.
This type of armband was worn by a messenger (ordonnans) of the Luchtbeschermingsdienst, the organisation responsible for protecting the civilian population from air raids during the Second World War.

De armband is van lichtgekleurde stof met daarop in blauwe letters ‘Luchtbeschermingsdienst’ en daaronder ‘Ordonnans’ gedrukt.
Tussen beide opschriften bevindt zich een blauwe horizontale balk.
Aan beide zijden van de armband zijn stoffen bindlinten bevestigd waarmee deze om de arm werd vastgeknoopt.
Dit type armband werd gedragen door een ordonnans van de Luchtbeschermingsdienst, de organisatie die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog belast was met de bescherming van de burgerbevolking bij luchtaanvallen.
