During the German occupation the Gewestelijk Arbeidsbureau was responsible for carrying out the forced labour programme known as the Arbeitseinsatz, under which Dutch men were called up to work in Germany.
From 1942 onwards, increasing numbers of Dutch citizens were compelled through these labour offices to travel to Germany to work in industry or agriculture.
Those who failed to report faced the risk of severe measures from the occupying authorities.
An interesting collectible for collectors of Dutch occupation documents and the Arbeitseinsatz during the Second World War.
