Original WWII Belgian insignia for Belgian troops in British army 1945

Original WWII Belgian shoulder title insignia ‘BELGIUM’, worn by Belgian troops serving within the British army.
The insignia is embroidered with white lettering on a khaki coloured backing and has a curved shape for placement on the shoulder of the uniform.
The letters ‘BELGIUM’ are outlined with a thin embroidered line in the same white colour.
This type of shoulder title was worn to display the nationality of Belgian servicemen within the Allied units from the beginning of May 1945.
The reverse shows the raw fabric without lining, consistent with the embroidered construction of the front.
An interesting original insignia for collectors of Belgian militaria and Allied uniform items from the Second World War.

Origineel WWII Belgisch schoudertitel insigne ‘BELGIUM’, gedragen door Belgische troepen binnen het Britse leger.

Het insigne is geborduurd met witte letters op een kaki gekleurde ondergrond en heeft een gebogen vorm voor plaatsing op de schouder van het uniform.
De letters ‘BELGIUM’ zijn omrand met een dunne geborduurde lijn in dezelfde witte kleur.
Dit type schoudertitel werd gedragen om de nationaliteit van de Belgische militairen binnen de geallieerde eenheden te tonen vanaf begin mei 1945.
De achterzijde toont de ruwe stof zonder voering, passend bij de geborduurde uitvoering van de voorzijde.
Een interessant origineel insigne voor verzamelaars van Belgische militaria en geallieerde uniformonderdelen uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
