Original WWII German Cross in Gold, a high German award from the Second World War, of the rare heavy type produced by Godet.
The star-shaped badge features a central black swastika on a white background, surrounded by a gilt laurel wreath on a red field.
The date ‘1941’ appears at the lower edge of the wreath.
The rays of the star are finished in alternating black and silver-plated metal.
The reverse shows the pin with hinge and catch, marked with the maker number ’21’ for Godet, together with six small attachment points securing the front plate to the base.

Origineel WWII Duits Kruis in Goud, een hoge Duitse onderscheiding uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, van het zeldzame zware type vervaardigd door Godet.
Het stervormige insigne toont een centraal zwart hakenkruis op een witte ondergrond, omgeven door een vergulde lauwerkrans op rode achtergrond.
Onderaan de krans is de datering ‘1941’ aangebracht.
De stralen van de ster zijn uitgevoerd in afwisselend zwart en verzilverd metaal.
De achterzijde toont de naald met scharnier en haak, voorzien van het fabrikantsnummer ’21’ voor Godet, en zes kleine bevestigingspunten die de voorzijde aan de basis verankeren.
Gewicht: 73 gram.
