The front imitates the familiar LIFE masthead, with the logo altered to read ‘DEATH’ in the same typography and colour scheme.
Below this is a painted skull depicted beneath a steel helmet, accompanied by the text ‘DOOMSDAY 1944’ and a mocking reference to the price and yearly subscription.
A printed code appears in the lower left corner, typical of this type of propaganda print.
The sheet was intended as satire aimed at the American home front and the Allied war effort.
