Original Pre-1940 Dutch Army M1912 Sword Portepee – Sabre Knot

Original pre-1940 Dutch M1912 sword portepee dating from the pre-war period.
This sword portepee was worn in combination with the Dutch M1912 sabre and formed part of the military sword equipment.
The example features a black braided suspension cord together with an elaborately constructed knot incorporating gold-coloured metallic thread.
The upper section of the knot is fitted with a gold-coloured metal fitting featuring decorative detailing.
The body consists of multiple vertical sections of finely braided gold-coloured material separated by darker accents.
A distinctive orange textile centre is visible at the bottom between the sections of gold-coloured braid.
The long black loop was fitted around the sword grip and secured the portepee to the hilt.
An attractive original component of pre-war Dutch sword equipment for collectors of Dutch Army uniforms, edged weapons and militaria from the mobilisation period.

Originele vooroorlogse Nederlandse M1912 sabelkwast uit de periode vóór 1940

Deze sabelkwast werd gedragen in combinatie met de Nederlandse M1912 sabel en vormde een onderdeel van de militaire sabeluitrusting.
Het exemplaar is uitgevoerd met een zwarte gevlochten draaglus en een rijk afgewerkte kwast met goudkleurig metaaldraad.
De kop van de kwast is voorzien van een goudkleurige metalen afwerking met decoratieve details.
De kwast bestaat uit meerdere verticale banen van fijn gevlochten goudkleurig materiaal met daartussen donkerdere accenten.
Aan de onderzijde bevindt zich een opvallende oranje textiele kern die zichtbaar is tussen het goudkleurige vlechtwerk.
De lange zwarte lus werd rond de greep van de sabel aangebracht en zorgde ervoor dat de sabelkwast aan het gevest bevestigd bleef.
Een fraai origineel onderdeel van Nederlandse vooroorlogse sabeluitrusting voor verzamelaars van Nederlandse legeruniformen, blanke wapens en militaria uit de mobilisatieperiode.
