Original WWII Finnish White Guard Shoulder Board Metal Insignia – Suojeluskunta

Original WWII Finnish metal shoulder board insignia of the White Guard, known in Finland as the Suojeluskunta.
The insignia features a stylized swastika in the centre with crossed rifles behind it.
This type of metal insignia was worn on the uniform by members of the Finnish White Guard.
The swastika had already been used in Finland before the rise of German National Socialism and appeared within various Finnish military and paramilitary organizations.
The reverse retains its metal attachment for mounting the insignia onto the shoulder board.
An interesting Finnish uniform insignia for collectors of Suojeluskunta and Finnish WWII militaria.

Het embleem toont centraal een gestileerd hakenkruis met daarachter gekruiste geweren.
Dit type metalen insigne werd gedragen op het uniform van leden van de Finse White Guard.
Het hakenkruis was in Finland al vóór de opkomst van het Duitse nationaalsocialisme in gebruik en kwam binnen verschillende Finse militaire en paramilitaire organisaties voor.
Op de achterzijde bevindt zich de oorspronkelijke metalen bevestiging waarmee het embleem aan de schouderbedekking kon worden aangebracht.
