Original WWII General Dwight D. Eisenhower Commemorative War Medal 1939-1945 – I.M.O. Sphinx

Original commemorative medal honouring American General Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Second World War period of 1939-1945.
The medal was issued by the Interallied Military Organization Sphinx, also known as I.M.O. Sphinx.
The obverse features a portrait of General Dwight D. Eisenhower in uniform surrounded by the inscription ‘In Action Faithful and In Honour Clear’.
The reverse is inscribed ‘The Commemorative War Medal of General Dwight D. Eisenhower 1939-1945’, with ‘Military Organization Sphinx’ around the edge.
The medal retains its original light blue ribbon with white edges and a narrow multicoloured central stripe.
I.M.O. Sphinx was an international organization associated with Allied veterans and the commemoration of their service during the Second World War.
This Eisenhower medal is also represented in museum collections and is an interesting collectible within the field of Allied decorations and commemorative medals.
