Original WWII German portrait depicting a Wehrmacht Heer soldier, executed as a hand-coloured portrait and preserved in a decorative period frame.
The soldier is depicted wearing his Heer uniform with clearly visible collar tabs, shoulder boards and the German eagle on the right breast.
A small ribbon decoration is visible on the left breast.
The portrait has been carefully colourised, with colour details added to the face, uniform and decorations.
These colourised military portraits were produced during the Second World War as personal keepsakes for servicemen and their families.
The portrait is displayed behind glass in a decorative gold-coloured frame with a dark inner border.
The reverse of the frame has been fitted with newly applied black tape securing the backing board to the frame.
The frame and portrait show traces of use.
The overall dimensions including the frame are approximately 46 x 35 cm.
