Original German patriotic metal bracelet bearing the inscription ‘Treu bis in den Tod 1914’.
The inscription translates as ‘Faithful unto death’ and is applied in raised lettering around the front of the bracelet.
An Iron Cross is depicted alongside the inscription, while the opposite side is richly decorated with a continuous pattern of oak leaves.

Originele Duitse patriottische metalen armband met de tekst ‘Treu bis in den Tod 1914’

De tekst betekent ‘Trouw tot in de dood’ en is rondom de voorzijde in verhoogde letters aangebracht.
Naast de tekst is een IJzeren Kruis afgebeeld, terwijl de andere zijde rijk is versierd met een doorlopend motief van eikenbladeren.
De combinatie van het jaartal 1914, het IJzeren Kruis en eikenloof sluit aan bij de Duitse militaire en patriottische symboliek die met de Eerste Wereldoorlog werd verbonden.
