Original WWII German Luftwaffe Robot II Camera with Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/4cm Lens & Leather Case

Original WWII German Luftwaffe Robot II camera fitted with a Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1:2 f=4cm lens and accompanied by its leather protective case.
The camera was manufactured by Robot Berning & Co. in Düsseldorf and belongs to the military versions used by the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War.
The top plate is clearly engraved with the military property marking ‘Luftwaffen-Eigentum’.
The interior is marked with serial number F38107, while the Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar lens bears serial number Nr. 2440805.
This type of Robot II was used among other applications as a Treffer- und Bordkamera for photographic purposes aboard Luftwaffe aircraft.
The camera features the distinctive Robot spring-driven mechanism which enabled multiple photographs to be taken in succession.
The fast Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1:2 f=4cm lens is an important component of this military configuration and this lens type is documented for use with Luftwaffe Robot II cameras.
The camera comes with the original leather protective and transport case shown in the photographs.
A comparable early Luftwaffe Robot II is also documented with this type of leather transport case.
Both the camera and case remain in clearly used condition with traces of use as shown in the photographs.
The functionality of the camera has not been tested.

De camera is vervaardigd door Robot Berning & Co. in Düsseldorf en behoort tot de militaire uitvoeringen die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog door de Duitse Luftwaffe werden gebruikt.

De werking van de camera is niet getest.
