Original WWII USAAF Type A-9 flight cap from the Second World War.
The flight cap is manufactured from khaki cotton fabric and retains its original leather chinstrap with metal buckle.
Both sides feature the distinctive attachment points forming part of the construction of this type of flight cap.
The interior retains its original black cloth label with markings including ‘TYPE A-9’, ‘DWG. NO. 42G6867’ and ‘AIR FORCE U.S. ARMY’.
The A-9 flight cap formed part of the flying equipment used by the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War.
The example remains in worn condition with normal traces of use and retains its original construction and distinctive details.

Originele WWII USAAF Type A-9 flight cap uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog

De vliegkap is uitgevoerd in khaki katoenen stof en voorzien van de originele leren kinriem met metalen gesp.
Aan beide zijden bevinden zich de kenmerkende bevestigingspunten die deel uitmaken van de constructie van dit type vliegkap.
Aan de binnenzijde is het originele zwarte stoffen label nog aanwezig met onder andere de aanduidingen ‘TYPE A-9’, ‘DWG. NO. 42G6867’ en ‘AIR FORCE U.S. ARMY’.
De A-9 flight cap maakte deel uit van de vlieguitrusting van de United States Army Air Forces tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Het exemplaar verkeert in gedragen conditie met normale gebruikssporen en toont nog duidelijk de originele constructie en details.
