Original WWII Allied Japanese Propaganda Leaflet ‘Man Kills Man’ 1944

Original Allied propaganda leaflet from World War II, produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) and aimed at Japanese troops.
The leaflet is registered as FELO J164a and bears the Japanese title ‘Hito ga hito o korosu’, translated as ‘Man kills man’.
The design prominently features a large Allied aerial bomb carrying the Japanese message ‘Hito ga hito o korosu’.
The accompanying Japanese text warns of the immense military and material strength of the Allies and states that countless bombs will continue to fall as long as Japan continues the war.
Leaflets of this type were intended to undermine the morale of Japanese servicemen and convince them of the futility of continuing the fighting.
It was produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office, the Allied organization responsible for extensive psychological warfare directed at Japanese forces throughout Asia and the Pacific.
FELO J164a was produced on 8 February 1944 and distributed in Melanesia.

Origineel Geallieerd propagandastrooibiljet uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, geproduceerd door het Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) en gericht aan Japanse troepen

Het zeldzame strooibiljet staat geregistreerd als FELO J164a en draagt de Japanse titel ‘Hito ga hito o korosu’, vertaald als ‘De mens doodt de mens’.
Centraal staat een grote geallieerde vliegtuigbom afgebeeld met daarop de tekst ‘Hito ga hito o korosu’.
De begeleidende Japanse tekst waarschuwt voor de enorme militaire en materiële kracht van de Geallieerden en stelt dat ontelbare bommen zullen blijven vallen zolang Japan de strijd voortzet.
Het doel van dergelijke strooibiljetten was het moreel van Japanse militairen te ondermijnen en hen te overtuigen van de uitzichtloosheid van verdere strijd.
Dit type werd geproduceerd door het Far Eastern Liaison Office, de Geallieerde organisatie die tijdens de oorlog op grote schaal psychologische oorlogsvoering voerde tegen Japanse troepen in Azië en de Pacific.
Het exemplaar J164a werd op 8 februari 1944 vervaardigd en werd verspreid in Melanesië.
