Original German Army photograph from the First World War depicting Generalfeldmarschall Paul von Hindenburg and General Erich Ludendorff.
The photograph shows both prominent German military leaders in uniform during the visit of the King of Bulgaria to the German Kaiser.
According to the original caption on the reverse, Hindenburg and Ludendorff are shown on their way to receive the King of Bulgaria.
Hindenburg is pictured on the left wearing several high German decorations, while Ludendorff is walking beside him on the right.
Paul von Hindenburg and Erich Ludendorff were among the most important figures within the German Supreme Army Command during the First World War and exercised enormous influence over German military operations from 1916 onwards.
The reverse retains its original German caption with photograph number 3472 and the description ‘Zum Besuche des Königs von Bulgarien beim deutschen Kaiser’.
Also present is the red W. Meissner Berlin SW.68 stamp referring to permission from the Generalstab der Armee for publication.
The combination of Hindenburg and Ludendorff, the visit of the Bulgarian King and the original press information makes this a particularly interesting historical document from World War I.

De foto toont beide prominente Duitse legerleiders in uniform tijdens het bezoek van de koning van Bulgarije aan de Duitse keizer.
Volgens het originele bijschrift op de achterzijde begeven Hindenburg en Ludendorff zich op het moment van de opname naar de ontvangst van de koning van Bulgarije.
Hindenburg is links afgebeeld en draagt verschillende hoge Duitse onderscheidingen, terwijl Ludendorff rechts naast hem loopt.
Paul von Hindenburg en Erich Ludendorff behoorden tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog tot de belangrijkste figuren binnen de Duitse Oberste Heeresleitung en hadden vanaf 1916 een zeer grote invloed op de Duitse oorlogsvoering.
Op de achterzijde bevindt zich het originele Duitse bijschrift met fotonummer 3472 en de omschrijving ‘Zum Besuche des Königs von Bulgarien beim deutschen Kaiser’.
Tevens is de rode stempel van W. Meissner uit Berlin SW.68 aanwezig, waarin wordt verwezen naar toestemming van de Generalstab der Armee voor publicatie.
