Original collection of 88 Allied aerial reconnaissance photographs from the Second World War featuring bombing missions, reconnaissance flights and target analysis over Italy.
Many photographs originate from No. 683 Squadron RAF, a specialised reconnaissance unit responsible for strategic aerial photography in support of Allied operations.
The collection includes railway marshalling yards, ports, coastal areas, cities, industrial facilities, mountainous terrain and active bombing raids with clearly visible smoke columns.
Several photographs still retain their original flight information, squadron references, dates, altitude details and the ‘SECRET’ classification.
Most photographs measure approximately 21 x 21 cm, with several examples in slightly smaller formats.

Originele collectie van 88 Geallieerde luchtfoto’s uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog met bombardementen, verkenningsvluchten en doelanalyses boven Italië

Een groot deel van de foto’s is gemaakt door het No. 683 Squadron RAF, een gespecialiseerde verkenningseenheid die strategische luchtfotografie uitvoerde voor de Geallieerde strijdkrachten.
De verzameling toont onder meer spoorwegemplacementen, havens, kustgebieden, steden, industriële complexen, berggebieden en actieve bombardementen met duidelijk zichtbare rookontwikkeling.
Op diverse foto’s zijn de originele vluchtgegevens, squadronaanduidingen, datum, vlieghoogte en classificatie ‘SECRET’ nog aanwezig.
De meeste foto’s hebben een formaat van circa 21 x 21 cm, aangevuld met enkele exemplaren in een iets kleiner formaat.
