Original WWII German Reichskommissariat Ukraine in the Dubno district Kennkarte

Original German Kennkarte issued by the German civilian occupation administration of the Reichskommissariat Ukraine in the Dubno district.
The very rare ID card was issued by the ‘Der Gebietskommissar in Dubno’ and bears serial number 21211.
The Kennkarte is printed in both German and Ukrainian, as was standard for identity documents used within the German occupation administration in Ukraine.
The holder is Henryk Nowak, born on 1 June 1912 in Sosnowiec.
His nationality is listed as Polish and his occupation as carpenter.
His place of residence is recorded as Sofiyivka near Werba.
The document was issued in Dubno on 17 April 1942 and includes the original portrait photograph, signature, official occupation stamps and German eagle seal.
Inside are the personal details, physical description and instructions for the holder of the Kennkarte.
Such documents were compulsory for civilians living in the occupied territories and were used for identification, travel and dealings with the German occupation authorities.
Kennkarte are normally pretty common, but this model is hard to find!

Het document werd afgegeven door de ‘Der Gebietskommissar in Dubno’ en draagt nummer 21211.
Deze zeer zeldzame Kennkarte is tweetalig uitgevoerd in het Duits en Oekraïens, zoals gebruikelijk was binnen het Duitse bezettingsbestuur in Oekraïne.
De houder is Henryk Nowak, geboren op 1 juni 1912 in Sosnowiec.
Zijn nationaliteit is vermeld als Pools en zijn beroep als timmerman.
Als woonplaats staat Sofijówka bij Werba vermeld.
