Original Soviet ceremonial banner from the 1960s featuring a portrait of Lenin and richly executed gold decorations.
The front displays the coats of arms of the various Soviet Socialist Republics surrounding the inscription ‘Glory to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics’.
The reverse features the state emblem of the USSR, a portrait of Lenin and Russian text referring to a transitional banner awarded for outstanding achievements in socialist competition.
The banner is finished with gold-coloured fringe and was produced as a ceremonial presentation flag for official Soviet institutions, factories or organisations.
