Original DDR Stasi shoulder boards for Unterleutnant

Original pair of DDR period Stasi Unterleutnant shoulder boards originating from East Germany.
The shoulder boards feature silver colored braided cords on a red backing as worn within the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit.
The reverse side still retains the original attachment loops and period construction.
This type of shoulder boards was worn by an Unterleutnant within the East German security and intelligence service.
The Stasi played a major role in domestic surveillance and control of the DDR population during the Cold War.
The organization was also responsible for counterintelligence, border security and monitoring political opponents of the regime.

Origineel paar DDR periode Stasi Unterleutnant schouderstukken afkomstig uit Oost-Duitsland.
De schouderstukken zijn uitgevoerd met zilverkleurige vlechtkoorden op een rode ondergrond zoals gedragen binnen de Ministerium für Staatssicherheit.
De achterzijde toont de originele bevestigingslussen en constructie uit de DDR periode.
Dit type schouderstukken werd gedragen door een Unterleutnant binnen de Oost-Duitse veiligheids- en inlichtingendienst.
