Original DDR Stasi shoulder boards for Unteroffizier

Original pair of Stasi shoulder boards for the rank of Unteroffizier dating from the Cold War period.
These shoulder boards were worn by members of the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (Stasi), the state security service of the German Democratic Republic.
The Stasi was the secret police of East Germany that monitored the population, suppressed opposition, and conducted extensive domestic and foreign intelligence operations during the Cold War.
The design features silver rank braid on a field grey base with a burgundy red border along the outer edge.
The burgundy piping is characteristic for uniform elements of the Stasi within the DDR uniform system.
The reverse retains the original cloth attachment loops used to secure the shoulder boards to the uniform.
They are made of textile with woven and stitched details following DDR uniform regulations.

Origineel paar Stasi schouderstukken voor de rang Unteroffizier uit de periode van de Koude Oorlog.
Deze schouderstukken werden gedragen door leden van het Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (Stasi), de staatsveiligheidsdienst van de Duitse Democratische Republiek.

Het ontwerp bestaat uit zilverkleurige rangvlecht op een veldgrijze ondergrond met een bordeaux rode rand langs de buitenzijde.
De bordeaux rode bies is kenmerkend voor uniformonderdelen van de Stasi binnen het uniformstelsel van de DDR.
Aan de achterzijde bevinden zich de originele stoffen lussen voor bevestiging aan het uniform.
De schouderstukken zijn vervaardigd uit textiel met geweven en gestikte details volgens de uniformvoorschriften van de DDR.
