Original 1890-1910 Dutch Marines uniform jacket

This original Dutch Marine Corps tunic dating from approximately 1890–1910 is a historical uniform piece reflecting the traditions of the Netherlands Marine Corps at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

The tunic is made of dark blue wool and features the characteristic design with a stand-up collar and a row of brass buttons on the front, each decorated with the maritime anchor emblem. Fine red piping runs along the front closure, collar, and cuffs, creating the typical color contrast associated with Marine uniforms from this period. The shoulders are fitted with red braided shoulder cords secured with a small button, a decorative and distinctive element of the uniform.

The interior is partially lined with light-colored linen, where an original stamped marking is still visible.

Originele 1890 – 1910 Nederlandse Korps Mariniers uniform jas 

Deze originele Nederlandse mariniersjas uit de periode circa 1890–1910 is een historisch uniformstuk dat de traditie van het Korps Mariniers uit het einde van de 19e en het begin van de 20e eeuw weerspiegelt.
De jas is vervaardigd uit donkerblauwe wollen stof en uitgevoerd in het karakteristieke model met opstaande kraag en een rij messing knopen aan de voorzijde, voorzien van het maritieme ankerembleem.
Langs de sluiting, kraag en manchetten loopt een fijne rode bies die het typische kleurcontrast vormt dat bij mariniersuniformen uit deze periode hoort.
Op de schouders bevinden zich rode gevlochten schouderkoorden die met een kleine knoop bevestigd zijn, een decoratief en herkenbaar element van het uniform.
De binnenzijde is deels gevoerd met een lichte linnen voering waarin nog een oude stempelmarkering zichtbaar is.
