Originele briefkaart uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, verzonden op 14 april 1943 vanuit Leipzig (Duitsland) door een Vlaamse vrouw afkomstig uit Borgerhout, die daar als dwangarbeidster tewerkgesteld was. De brief is gericht aan het gemeentebestuur – burgerlijke stand van Veerle (België) en bevat een formeel verzoek om afschriften van geboorte-, huwelijks- en overlijdensakten in het kader van genealogisch onderzoek naar haar familie (familienaam Van Ouytsel). De tekst is handgeschreven in het Nederlands, met duidelijke sporen van administratieve en postale verwerking, waaronder Duitse censuur- en dagstempels, een Reichszegel van 15 Pfennig en internationale antwoordkaart-opmaak.
