Impressive original black-and-white Dutch NSB photograph from the years of occupation, showing Anton Mussert at the NSB headquarters at Maliebaan 35 in Utrecht.
From the balcony, Mussert greets the large crowd that has gathered below, which responds with raised arms.
This example is especially remarkable due to the handwritten message on the reverse, in Mussert’s own handwriting, in which he expresses his thanks for the birthday wishes he received and personally signs the photograph.
A very interesting item for a collection focused on Dutch collaboration or the NSB.

Indrukwekkende originele zwart-witfoto uit de bezettingsjaren, waarop Anton Mussert te zien is bij het NSB-hoofdkwartier aan de Maliebaan 35 in Utrecht. Vanaf het balkon groet Mussert de massaal toegestroomde menigte, die hem met opgeheven arm beantwoordt. Het exemplaar is extra bijzonder door de handgeschreven boodschap op de achterzijde, in Musserts eigen handschrift, waarin hij dank betuigt voor ontvangen gelukwensen ter gelegenheid van zijn verjaardag en de foto persoonlijk signeert. Een zeer interessant object voor de Nederlandse collaboratie of NSB collectie!
