This German DRK Sanitätstasche from the Second World War is a leather medical pouch as used by the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz.
The pouch is made of sturdy dark-brown leather and shows characteristic wartime wear.
On the back are the dual belt loops for attachment to a belt or equipment, and the closing straps with metal studs are still present.
The interior shows the original compartment with leather retaining straps, as well as a remaining factory stamp.
This type of pouch was used to carry basic bandages and medical supplies in the field.

Deze Duitse DRK Sanitätstasche uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog is een leren medische tas zoals gebruikt door het Deutsches Rotes Kreuz. De tas is vervaardigd uit stevig, donkerbruin leer met typische oorlogstijdse slijtage. Aan de achterzijde zitten de dubbele riemlussen voor bevestiging aan koppel of uitrusting, en de sluitriemen met metalen knoppen zijn nog aanwezig. De binnenzijde toont het oorspronkelijke compartiment met leren bandjes voor het vastzetten van inhoud, evenals restant van fabrieksstempel. Dit type tas werd gebruikt voor het meenemen van basisverbandmiddelen en medische benodigdheden in het veld.
