Original DDR (East German) paper flag

This DDR (East German) paper flag dates from the period of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and features the well-known black-red-gold tricolor with the state emblem, a hammer and compass surrounded by a wreath of grain.
The flag is printed on thin paper and attached to a wooden stick, as was customary during official parades, national holidays, and political demonstrations organized by the Socialist Unity Party (SED).
Such small flags were distributed to citizens and schoolchildren to wave during socialist events and processions.
This example shows light signs of use, and we have a few pieces in stock, each in similar condition.
An interesting and original collectible item for enthusiasts of DDR history or Cold War memorabilia.

Origineel DDR (Oost-Duits) papieren vlaggetje 

Deze DDR (Oost-Duitse) papieren vlag stamt uit de periode van de Duitse Democratische Republiek (DDR) en toont de bekende zwart-rood-gele driekleur met het staatswapen, een hamer en passer omringd door een krans van graan. De vlag is gedrukt op dun papier en bevestigd aan een houten stok, zoals gebruikelijk bij officiële parades, nationale feestdagen en politieke demonstraties georganiseerd door de Socialistische Eenheidspartij (SED). Dergelijke kleine vlaggetjes werden destijds uitgedeeld aan burgers en schoolkinderen om te zwaaien tijdens socialistische evenementen en optochten. Dit exemplaar vertoont lichte gebruikssporen en we hebben een paar exemplaren op voorraad, elk in vergelijkbare staat.
Een interessant en origineel verzamelobject voor liefhebbers van DDR-geschiedenis of Koude Oorlog memorabilia.
