Original WWII Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst flyer

This World War II collaboration brochure was published by the Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst (NAD), the organization established during the German occupation to mobilize Dutch youth through labor and discipline for the reconstruction of the country.
The brochure opens with the title “Uw plaats is in den Nederlandschen Arbeidsdienst” (“Your place is in the Dutch Labor Service”) and contains numerous black-and-white photographs and texts illustrating the daily life, training, and ideals of the Labor Service.
Inside, the functioning of the camps is described in detail — from morning gymnastics, flag parades, and communal labor to recreation, sports, and camaraderie.
The publication also includes informative pages about nutrition, medical care, service duration, and admission requirements, along with a recruitment appeal under the heading “Meldt U aan!” (“Sign up!”).
On the back, a map of the Netherlands shows the locations of the various NAD camps.

Deze Nederlandse collaboratie flyer uit de periode van de Tweede Wereldoorlog is een uitgave van de Nederlandsche Arbeidsdienst (NAD), de organisatie die door de Duitse bezetter werd opgericht om Nederlandse jongeren in te zetten voor arbeid ten dienste van de samenleving en het nationaalsocialistische gedachtegoed.
De brochure opent met de titel “Uw plaats is in den Nederlandschen Arbeidsdienst” en bevat meerdere pagina’s met tekst en foto’s die het doel, de organisatie en de idealen van de NAD toelichten.
Er wordt uitgebreid beschreven hoe jonge mannen door fysieke arbeid en discipline zouden bijdragen aan de opbouw van Nederland.
Binnenin bevat de flyer staat onder meer een portret van de toenmalige commandant J.N. Breunese.
Ook worden de opleidingskampen, dagelijkse werkzaamheden en de vrijwillige aanmeldingsprocedure toegelicht.
Achterin is een oproep opgenomen onder de titel “Meldt U aan!”, waarmee lezers werden aangespoord om zich bij de dienst te voegen.
