Original WWII US Navy officer tan jacket with blood spatters

This tan/khaki US Navy officers uniform jacket is in used condition and contains a large number of blood spatters on the front and back.
This jacket has all gold colored buttons and loops for the shoulder pads and named.
Exactly what the jacket has been through is unfortunately unknown to us, but we have this specimen recently from America and we suspect the jacket was worn on one of the ships during a sea battle.

Deze tan/khaki US Navy officiers uniform jas is in gebruikte conditie en bevat een groot aantal bloedspetters aan de voor en achterzijde.
Deze jas is voorzien van alle goud gekleurde knopen en lussen voor de schouderstukken en genaamd.
Wat de jas precies heeft meegemaakt is helaas voor ons niet bekend, maar wij hebben dit exemplaar recentelijk uit Amerika en wij vermoeden dat de jas op één van de slagschepen gedragen is tijdens een zeeslag.

Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog speelde de Amerikaanse marine (US Navy) een cruciale rol in zowel de Atlantische als de Stille Oceaan.
Na de verrassingsaanval op Pearl Harbor in december 1941 mobiliseerde de VS haar volledige industriële en militaire macht.
De US Navy groeide uit tot de grootste vloot ter wereld en leidde belangrijke campagnes zoals de Slag om Midway en de eiland-hopstrategie in de Stille Oceaan.
